For just a limited time, Holiday
on Ice presents an imaginative and magical ice-skating show for all
ages. From timeless classics like “Come
Fly With Me” and “As Time Goes By” to modern hits from Coldplay and Hansard and
Irglova, this dazzling performance features an all-star cast of 24 performers,
who are not only proficient in athleticism, but also artistic ability. Each song follows the theme of “Time,”
bringing feelings of sentimentality and nostalgia to hope for the future. Solo performers impress audiences with
flexibility and high-flying jumps, while pair skaters astound them with
dangerous lifts and exhilarating spins.
Due to performance copyrights and out of respect for
performers and fellow audience members, photography during the performance is
not allowed. But who wants to enjoy the
excitement of fire blasts, spectacular costumes, and beautiful artistry through
the lens of a camera when you can see it with your own two eyes? From synchronized dances to story-telling illustrations,
performers transition flawlessly between songs, transporting the audience to
another world. This enchanted experience
combines theatrical narratives with simplistic beauty and athletic performance,
all through the venue of live figure skating.
The EisSport & EventPark in Grefrath, Germany,
celebrated its 40th year hosting Holiday
on Ice from Nov 24 to Nov 27, 2016.
However, the show will also run from Dec 30, 2016, to Jan 1, 2017, in
Dortmund, and Jan 21 to Jan 22, 2017, in Köln.
